Evolution of Man

To create this image, I used six separate photos that I took just for this project. I started with the first image being completely black and white and progressively added color by 15% to the images from left to right to put the focus on the final image in the sequence. In order to create some depth, I copied each layer containing a person, used "color overlay" with the color black at 100%, reduced the opacity of the entire layer to 10%, then flipped and skewed the layer to create a shadow. I then applied a gradient to the title to mimic the gay pride flag but kept it narrow so that the color did not rob attention from the rest of the image. I think that the progression in posture combined with the shadows gives to image a sense of movement. I hope you like this. It was a special project for me.

A Glimpse of the World Through My Eyes

While I was taking this photo of my cousin, my imagination went into over drive. I couldn't wait to get home so that I could "edit" this photo so that it would show what I really saw when I snapped this shot. Ordinarily, I would have opened up Photoshop and began work immediately. Sadly for me, I had to wait nearly a week because I was camping with little access to electricity and my laptop had no juice. I think it was worth the wait. I know it's cheesy but I'm a dork like that.
